East Nisbet - John Pringle JP

John Pringle was a tenant of East Nisbet Farmhouse he succeeded his uncle Mr Walker who had been the tenant at the time of the East Nisbet Tragedy.  John Pringle was held in high regard having been a Justice of the Peace for Roxburghshire and Lanarkshire as well as a member of the Jedburgh District Committee, the School Board and the Parish Council.  He was known to be generous.  Following a period of ill health he died age 75 and was buried in Crailing Churchyard.  He was survived by his wife. His obituary was published in the Jedburgh Gazette on 29th June 1917.
